Expedition Estonia is a physically and mentally demanding adventure race through midsummer Estonia. Every year a new route awaits the participants – so far the trail has taken them from Lahemaa to Pärnu (2017); From Lake Peipus to Pärnu (2018); From Pärnu to Paldiski (2019) from Koidula along the coastal area of Lake Peipus to Lääne-Virumaa (2020) and Tartu-Tallinn (2021).

The 2022 route runs from Estonian-Russian border town Narva towards capital Tallinn. It is a fantastic area for adventure – pristine beautiful forest, bogs and beaches are contrasted with heavy soviet style industrial and military remnants.  Add to that some high seaside cliffs and almost no darkness for the whole 24h and it is definitely a mix you need to experience! Expedition Estonia will be part of Adventure Racing World Series European Series in 2022. This will bring classic 4 person co-ed teams to race for a possibility to win a free spot in the World Adventure Racing Championship 2022. But you can also participate alone or in a team of 2 members in open class where GPS is allowed for navigation. The ARWS race circuit only uses maps for navigation and it’s route leads to  bit more difficult checkpoints. It will be a true wilderness expedition!

In the interests of protecting the terrain, the number of participants is limited.

Real-time GPS tracking of all teams will be provided with modern devices.

The predicted fastest time for non-stop racing is about 15 hours, but the course is open for 36 hours, so it is possible to complete it more calmly and with breaks.

The total journey of about 200 km is divided into different stages that must be covered on foot, boat or bike.

There is catering and resting possibility in transition areas. Main sponsor of the expedition is Estonian freeze dried adventure food producer Tactical Foodpack. Participants can choose the menu that suits them from the Tactical menu or eat other food from the grill or soup pot in the transition area and take the Tactical package with them to the course instead.

More information will be available 6 months prior to race!
